Mindful Living, Mindful Ageing

Ageing is inevitable, however our attitude can make all the difference. Research shows a positive attitude to ageing is the key to better health, life satisfaction and living longer. Join Venerable Drolkar, a grandmother and Buddhist nun to discover key principles on how to live a fully engaged life and age wisely, mindfully and gracefully.

Discover simple ways to cultivate positive attitudes towards change and aging, dealing with aches and pains by using them to enhance our inner practice. Learn how to integrate attitudes such as kindness, compassion (for self and others) and gratitude.

This is an ideal class for beginners to mindfulness practice as well as a top-up for established practitioners. We have plenty of chairs, cushions and stools so you can be comfortable! Free tea and coffee provided. Bookings appreciated, but you can also just come along on the day. By donation (suggested $40/$30 including notes).

More About Ven. Lozang Drolkar

The session will be led by hands-on grandmother and Buddhist nun, Ven. Lozang Drolkar, who is also leading sessions at QPAC’s 2016 Out of the Box Festival. Ordained in the tradition of H.H. the Dalai Lama, Ven. Drolkar has a degree in Applied Ethics, leads classes in mindfulness at Griffith University and Langri Tangpa Buddhist Centre and loves to laugh.

What is living mindfully? What does it mean for your day to day life? Mindfulness is a process of developing moment to moment inner awareness. Scientific studies show that mindfulness is effective in the treatment of pain, anxiety, and depression, and can boost productivity, creativity, and personal happiness.

Ven. Lozang Drolkar became a nun in 2011. She has a degree in Applied Ethics, and currently attends the advanced study program at Chenrezig Institute as well as studying to become a Buddhist chaplain. She leads meditations, conducts baby naming ceremonies and has taught Buddhism in schools. She has a daughter, two grandsons, and loves to laugh!
