Visiting Teachers

Visiting Teachers

The teachings with the lamas and international guest speakers are the heart of our program. They are the real deal - authentic Buddhist teachers with many years of formal study, as well as practice in many aspects of meditation and ritual. In a world where so much is watered down into new-age consumability, or degenerated into pop-culture sound bites - these teachings stand out as rare and unique. In a direct lineage from the Buddha to us, we can share the personal insight and warmth of a qualified Buddhist teacher.

These teachings are relevant to all - from beginner's to advanced students. Listen with a relaxed mind, let the teaching wash over you, and don't try to understand everything in one go! Even if you get just one gem of insight, take that and see how it can change your life at a fundamental level!

Mind Training Like the Rays of the Sun

with Geshe Phuntsok Tsultrim

Teachings for learning how to work with difficult situations and people with compassion and wisdom. The mind training teachings are concerned with developing the altruistic mind of enlightenment, and deal with transforming our mental attitudes, especially with how to transform adversity into advantage. Not only do these instructions help us open our heart towards others, they also help us transform whatever difficulties come our way into something valuable.

Geshe-la's teachings are suitable for all levels, from beginners to long-term students. (NB note erlier start time of 7 pm)

Great Enlightenment - Three Kayas

with Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Tashi Tsering

The first of a series of Sunday teachings on the profound and inspiring topic of the three bodies of a buddha - the ultimate nature, the emanating light body and the human form we can relate with. Included in this topic is going for refuge, and an investigation off the nature of the mind and our innate buddha potential. Everyone welcome, recommended for established students and the committed beginner.
