Spiritual Programme Co-ordinator
Miffi Maxmillion
spc@langritangpa.org.au

Miffi runs the spiritual program, leads beginner’s classes and maintains the website. She left behind a thriving haute couture and costume business in Melbourne, when her mother Inta (who ran LTC) became sick with cancer in 1997. Packing her bags for two weeks, she is still here eleven years later! Miffi was brought up a Buddhist and had the great good fortune to play with Lama Yeshe as a child, and his hook of compassion sustained her through the many rebellious stages of growing up. She readily admits to watching far too much TV and is an avid New Yorker magazine reader.

Elected Member (& Troubleshooter)
Ven. Lozang Lhagsam

Ven. Lhagsam is a Buddhist nun with a background in working in mental health, alcohol and drug services as a registered nurse. She was one of Inta’s closest friends for many years. It was during a visit of H.H. the Dalai Lama in 1992 that Ven. Lhagsam (then Margaret Holtham) made a deep connection with the Tibetan tradition of Buddhism, and she became ordained in 2000. She lives and studies at Chenrezig Institute and regularly commutes to Langri Tangpa.

  Elected Member
Chris Kerle
children@langritangpa.org.au

A couple of the committee members live at the centre in the capacity of caretakers. There is always someone at the centre, even if we are not actually open during the day. We do not have a permanent staff for our office, so if you wish to drop in to buy a book, please ring first and make an appointment.

We also have some regular volunteers that organise and oversee particular areas of the centre. They too find the time in amongst work and children to contribute, adding to the huge amount of dedication and energy at the centre.

Credits for this Website

I am under absolutely no obligation to credit anyone on this site, but I have an immediate sense of gratitude to my Work for the Dole placement. When I first heard I had been sent there, I honestly thought I would be picking up rubbish and painting bus-shelters. Amazingly, I had an option to learn how to build web-pages. And just on 10 months later, here it is, thanks to the indirect contribution of all Australian tax-payers, and a little church in Fortitude Valley.

Thanks also to Tharpa Publications for the use of the picture of Geshe Langri Tangpa for our logo (©Tharpa Publications). - Miffi Maxmillion
