1. Ven. Ailsa the super-nun, who flies back from India each year
especially to organise and lead the 8 Nyung-nes leading up to Saka
Dawa.
|

2. The Chenrezig altar and offerings, with the flowers from Gunter
Lillie's funeral offered as a centerpiece. Their beautiful scent lasted
for days. |

3. New friends Alan and John, were amicable company, whether it was
a speaking or non-speaking day. It was Alan, after a huge lunch, who
suggested we have a 'designated prostrator', and the rest of us could
just rejoice! |

4. Francis; very, very happy at the big breakfast, after having
completed all 8 Nyung-Nes, despite her chronic arthritis. |
5. Don't tell Eddie (whose job it is to clean LTC)! Miffi was sprung
doing a touch of karma-yoga housework in the gompa.
|
6. The exquisite mandala house, with multi-level offerings and brocade
curtains.
|
7. The light offerings at the stupa. Just after we had finished
lighting all 1,000 of them, and literally 20 seconds after we had
offered them to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, a gust of wind came
and blew them all out in one go!
|

8. Christina Smerdon (nee Whiteside) and Mandy McNulty, on opposite
ends of the political spectrum, but very close Dharma friends. Christina
is the new LTC treasurer.
|

9. Everyone who did the 8 Nyung-Nes assembled at the feet of Chenrezig.
This thanka was especially unfurled fro the occasion, an event that
happens maybe once a year. |

10. Age has no sway at a Nyung-Ne; the oldest, Alice (at 69 she is
an indomitable prostrator) and the youngest, Samara (who had her 19th
birthday during this retreat). |
|
11. "Show us yer muscles!" Having just completed all 8
Nyung-Nes (that's 16 days remember!), the Langri Tangpa Centre students
feel a millions dollars - and invincible! (From left to right: Miffi
Maxmillion, Alice Turnbull, Christina Smerdon (nee Whiteside), Mandy
McNulty, Gayle Laverty, Ven. Lozang Tsultrim, Samara Tolstrup and
Alan Carter.)
